Warm it Up

Hey ladies!

Warm, layered, tones and cool relaxed days… just a few of the reasons fall is so great! I always wonder if we’d love fall as much if it were five months instead of two. Wish we could make the swap with winter! Because fall seems to be gone in a blip, I want to give you a few statement pieces to instantly broaden your fall fashion palette and accessories to warm up your current wardrobe.

  1. Plaid Patterns— bring on the buffalo check and cozy flannels, something about plaid just makes you want fall all year round. If you’re going out, you can dress up your plaids with fun styles like this tie neck shirt that tucks in perfectly to some high-waisted skinnies.
  2. Layered Neutrals— while neutrals are stereotypically considered winter colors, layering neutrals helps you break up blocks of color and keep them light for fall. Layering also allows you to dress statement pieces, like this apron bow-back jumpsuit, up or down depending on the occasion
  3. Warm Tones—tees add a quick pop of color (I’m partial to mustard yellow this season) or a playful pattern under your flannel or cardigan. And warm felt hats keep you chic and cozy. Plus, when paired with neutrals, they instantly brighten darker hues.

4. Wraps, Capes, and Scarves—Good news. Basically this trend justifies wearing an afghan in public. Pair an oversized cape with a fitted turtleneck for a cute contrast look, or play with a patterned scarf with a button-up cardigan to leave everyone breathless…besides your cozy self.

5. Leather and Suede Boots—the default materials of fall, these styles are classic for a reason. Keep your toes warm and dry, and look cute doing it. Who said utilitarian couldn’t be unique?
