Reese’s Bedroom Update

Hi Friends!

The day after the Twins 5th birthday party we had a frozen pipe burst in our attic. It was divine intervention and perfect timing it didn’t happen during their party or when we were hosting 35 for Christmas. Needless to say we woke up to Niagra Falls. Word to the wise, learn how to turn off your water line. If you have a fire prevention system in your home make sure your pipes are properly insulated. You live and learn but now our attic is super insulated which will be great for next winters polar vortex (can you sense my sarcasm).

Everything but a few things were ruined in the flood. We had to start from the ground up and replace her carpet, bed and bedding. We originally purchased a Sterns and Foster mattress from Macy’s. We went with S & F because we thought it was the best and paid the big bucks. When I started researching new mattresses I was intrigued by all the new options out there.

I heard great things from another friend about Agility (owned by Therapedic) and decided to give them a try. The queen mattress and foundation (similar to what a box spring would be) both came in a box. They literally took Jim 15 minutes to set up. The mattress is heaven. It has micro-coils and gel memory foam.

What that means to us it’s the perfect blend of being supportive and soft and we are all about comfort over here. We read in bed every night with the Twins. You also want your children to have a goods night sleep on the best possible mattress. In the market for a new mattress?? Agility is offering $100 off your purchase with code “DC100” at checkout.

In addition to the mattress we purchased an upholstered bed from Living Spaces. I prefer upholstered so everything you touch is soft when you are sleeping. The cute cherry wall decals are from Urban Walls. The Twins helped me install them. They are a great alternative to wallpaper especially for a pop of color in your little ones room. I especially appreciate the watercolor hand painted detail to them.

The blue striped throw pillows were custom made by AbbyKate Home. Here’s a direct link if you want to purchase the pillows on ETSY. The Belle Pink sheets are from Project 62 for Target. I also snagged this vintage washed percale sheet set to rotate in when one set is in the wash.

The oversized pom pom blanket is from ETSY. This is the same amazing seller I purchased the throw from for our Master bedroom. I went with the 78×118 size for her queen bed. You can shop it here. The Audree Pom Pom Quilt is from Ballard.

I can’t wait to share more updates as the room unfolds. Thanks for following along with our progress!

XO,

Doreen
